It has not been known for a long time that the best way to replace missing teeth is with implants. They are durable, long-lasting and perfectly imitate real teeth - when done correctly, they are indistinguishable. In some cases, however, one filling or several is not enough - tooth implants need to be inserted throughout the jaw. How much does it cost? What does the procedure look like? Read our article and find out more.
First step on the way to full-jaw dental implants
First, of course, you will face a solid consultation with an implantologist. This one will examine your needs, help you choose the best crowns and advise you on the right solutions. He will also check for any contraindications to the procedure.
In some cases, bone reconstruction will also be necessary Under implants in the UK. You can read more about this in our article: "Bone reconstruction for implants in the UK". You may be struggling with bone atrophy, among other things, if your dental hygiene has not been perfect up to now, resulting in periodontitis, periodontal disease or pockets of teeth.
Remember - bone atrophy can also be the result of an ill-fitting prosthetic restoration. To place dental implants throughout the jaw in the UK, tooth extraction is, of course, necessary.

What does the implant insertion look like?
Once everything has been prepared, there are no contraindications to the procedure - then it is time to insert the implant.
For the treatment to be successful, the following are needed 2 to 8 screws (as a reminder, the implant itself is the screw, and the thing that imitates the tooth is called the crown), in order to fit the prosthetic restoration previously prepared by the prosthodontist.
How many implants you will need depends, of course, on the condition of your mouth.
So what does the insertion of implants across the jaw look like? Of course, you will receive a local anaesthetic, making the procedure itself painless. So you don't need to be afraid. Your gum will be incised, a hole will be drilled in your jaw where the implant will be inserted. This will soon fuse with your bone and it will then be time to insert your prosthetic restoration.
Don't worry - the specialist won't let you out of the surgery without a suitable temporary denture, so you certainly won't be left without your teeth for the duration of your healing.
