A visit to the implantologist at Medical-Dent

Implants are a very effective solution for restoring missing teeth.

The first visit is an implantology consultation During which the doctor carries out a full examination of the mouth, condition of the teeth, hygiene, soft tissues and periodontal examination. During the discussion, the course of treatment and the next stages of the procedure are determined.

In our practice we offer painless treatments, using the best quality materials that the NHS does not guarantee.

Implant insertion procedure at Medical-Dent

First stage

Implantological consultation is a visit during which the doctor performs a full examination of the oral cavity, condition of the teeth, hygiene, soft tissues and periodontal examination. There is a discussion with the patient about expectations, possibilities, risks, advantages and disadvantages of a given method. During this visit, the patient is referred for appropriate diagnostic tests /RTG, CT Scan/. After receiving the test results, the doctor sends a treatment plan to the patient and arranges the next visit.

Second stage

In the second stage, once the details of the procedure have been agreed with the patient, the implantation procedure takes place. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia and involves inserting an implant into the bone tissue.

Third stage

After about 3-6 months, the implant is exposed and a healing screw is placed. With this screw, the gum around the future crown looks like the gum of a natural tooth.

Fourth stage

After about 2 weeks, impressions of the implant and opposing teeth are taken. Registration of the occlusion and colour selection of the future work follows.

Fifth stage

Handover of the finished work after a period of 2 weeks. A high standard of hygiene and regular follow-up appointments are a prerequisite for the maintenance of the implant.
