Wondering what prosthetic solution will give the most natural result? In our opinion, it would be an implant-supported denture in the UK. Read our article and find out what it looks like, its benefits and cost.
What does an implant-supported prosthesis look like?
Implant-supported dentures are indistinguishable from a natural smile. Implants are screws which are inserted into the gums - and the next step is to attach a customised denture to them. The prosthodontist takes an impression, on the basis of which the prosthetic restoration is created in the laboratory.
Interestingly, the specialist can even consult with you about the colour of your teeth - so that it feels as natural as possible. You will also feel natural with your denture - you won't be reminded of it. You don't need glue for it, nor will it put pressure on your gums, as is often the case with other prosthetic solutions.
What are the advantages of this type of prosthesis?
One of the biggest advantages of implant-supported dentures in the UK is their stability. The body does not treat the implants as if they are foreign. Over time, they will grow over the bone tissue, preventing any possible displacement.

Furthermore, implants prevent bone loss. This is a problem that quite a few people face. Not infrequently, it is necessary bone reconstruction for implants in the UK. However, if you react quickly after losing a tooth, no such intervention is needed.
With implant-supported dentures in the UK, the cheeks will not lose their support or develop furrows or wrinkles. This is thanks to the proper loading of the bone, which is not the case with a traditional denture. What's more, with this solution, you don't have to give up your favourite food! Thanks to the fact that nothing blocks the palate, you can eat whatever you like, regardless of texture or degrees of hardness.

Implant-supported dentures in the UK - the most durable solution
The biggest advantage of implant-supported dentures is their durability. This gives patients great comfort! For people who have been struggling with the loss of some or all of their teeth, this is a huge relief.
Why are implant-supported dentures so strong? It is all down to the strong materials from which the implants, as well as the prosthesis, are made. One of these is ceramic or porcelain - resistant to abrasion, staining or high temperatures.

Natural effect of implant-supported dentures
As we have already mentioned, it is the implant-supported denture in the UK that gives the most natural effect. This is because this solution is tailored to the patient's anatomy. The colour, the shape of the teeth, their placement - this makes the denture look almost like natural teeth. What is more, the attachments of such a denture are invisible to the eye.
What does the treatment look like?
Of course, the treatment time depends on the number of implants that are needed for the prosthesis. Implanting one can take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours. This depends on the patient's anatomy. The next step is the suturing of the implant. Here, time is needed - usually it will be between 8 and 12 weeks. This is how long it takes for the implant to fuse with the bone.
This is not the end of the story - after this time, the implant is sewn in for about 2-3 months. During this time, the implant 'roots' in the jaw and is fused to the bone. The next step is to cut the gum and replace the locking screws with healing ones. These need several days to heal. The prosthodontist then inserts an abutment or attachment system for the prosthesis.
Further action includes taking an impression, based on which a full or partial denture is fitted. It will either be fixed with special clasps or screwed in place.
Implant-supported dentures in the UK - is it a big cost?
The price of implant-supported dentures in the UK depends on a number of factors: the condition of the teeth, the number of implants needed. The price of inserting one implant in the UK starts at £1400.
