Types of braces

Of course, to answer the question of how much braces cost in the UK, you need to study all kinds of braces. And there are quite a few! Patients have plenty to choose from. 

Metal, ceramic; movable or fixed. The prices of the instruments vary depending on what they are made of, among other things. 

NOTE: Don't forget that setting it up is one thing, but here there is also the cost of visits. And how often do they take place? And here there is no clear answer - as often as the patient needs it! 

Fixed braces in the UK

Let's start with fixed braces. These are permanently attached to the teeth and consist of brackets and rings. These are tightened at each appointment, allowing the teeth to move in the right direction. And that is all! But back to answering the question - how much do braces cost in the UK? The cheapest option among fixed braces are metal braces, made of stainless steel. Their prices in the UK range from £600 to £1100 in Polish clinics. The amount in UK clinics can be up to twice as much.

The second, more expensive type is ceramic braces. Thanks to this material, it is unobtrusive, but it has one disadvantage. Its colour excludes certain foods from the diet, such as those that colour heavily - red wine, beetroot or curry. The reason? The braces can acquire discolouration that is difficult to remove! 

Prices for ceramic braces in the UK, in Polish clinics, range from £900 to £1600. 

A camera at a similar price to the one above, but for the least visibleis a sapphire brace. Its brackets are transparent and the effect can be enhanced with ligatures, or rubber bands - these match the colour of your teeth. Although this brace is larger than metal braces, it is certainly more discreet - and we are aware that this is what some patients want.

Other fixed appliances

Did you know that it is also possible to fit a self-ligating brace? This means that it is free of the "rubber bands" which had to be replaced every few weeks. Lingual braces are also worth mentioning - This one, unlike its predecessors, is inserted from the inside of the dentition, making it completely invisible. So if this is an important issue for you, this solution will be ideal. Especially since lingual braces are also very comfortable, as each bracket is made individually for each patient. 

Such comfort, however, costs money - and these range from £3,000 to £5,000. 

Removable braces in the UK - how much do braces cost in the UK?

It is time to discuss the types of removable braces for teeth. This one, as the name suggests, you can take it off at any time removed. However, this is not up to the patient - the doctor's instructions must be followed! 

It is worth noting that this type of brace is most commonly used for children and adolescents, but adults can also benefit from it. 

Almost everyone, after completing orthodontic treatment with fixed braces, later receives retention braces to consolidate the whole effect. Its price is in the range of £80 to £300 in Polish clinics.

Can crooked teeth be prevented?

Why? The culprits will be the eighths, which can push the teeth beyond the arch. It is possible that extraction may be the only solution in your situation.
